We were in planning mode with the Executive Committee to make a great 2024!

Resilient.Community

We officially launched our Android App which is available on Android devices and can be found the Google Play Store under Resilient.Community!

We started posting a few times a week to keep up with the information partners share with us. All blog posts are also available on the Resilient.Community app.

  • Made over 300 calls to Greater Boston elders in our network

  • Facilitated over 100 food deliveries

Boston Resilience Corps

We expanded the Boston Resilience Corps, a FEMA approved Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), to include an out-of-school time and workforce development program. We kicked off our first cohort of young people in January!

Black Resilience Network Members Active in Disaster Recovery Efforts

The mission of the Black Resilience Network is to catalyze leadership development, collaboration, and investments so Black towns, communities, and organizations can successfully play their vital roles in the disaster and climate resilience ecosystem.  We have over 100 members across 23 states who are doing amazing work to support the long and painful recovery process with community members. The following are some of our members who are actively leading recovery efforts. Many of them are also involved in responding to the devastation from Hurricane Helene. Elder Wellness & Support Overview

  By    Atyia Martin March 16, 2024 Boston Resilience Corps members and our team provide food deliveries and other resources to over 100 Black elders in the City of Boston each month. We call to check on them and if they need food that month, we bring them perishable and shelf stable groceries. If they need other resources or case management, we provide that support. We also organize focused in-person wellness checks at senior housing developments with members of the Boston Resilience Corps. In-Person Resilience Checks

Boston Resilience Corps Overview: Youth & Young Adults Year-Round Program

  By    Atyia Martin March 16, 2024 Boston Resilience Corps members are community members who want to help their neighbors with personal and community emergencies. Youth and young adults ages 14 to 24 participate in learning and service projects September through May. Members are committed to continuous knowledge and skill building. We provide regular opportunities for engagement, including our Elder Wellness & Support Program.
